SIG SAUER ROSE Festival Day 2: Building Skills and Confidence

From pistol caliber carbine training and hands-on firearm demonstrations to learning the inner workings of the M400 rifle, Day 2 delivered another memorable day of learning, shooting, and camaraderie.

After an exciting first day at the SIG SAUER ROSE Festival, I was looking forward to getting back to the range. Day 2 had two classes on my schedule, and I was eager to see what I would learn and experience.

As before, we loaded onto the buses and headed out to the Clark County shooting range. Once we arrived, I made a quick stop at the vendor village to pick up a few items that had caught my eye the day before. There was still plenty to explore, but I had classes to get to!

Great Food, Giveaways, and More SIG SAUER Hospitality

After class, it was time for lunch, and once again, SIG SAUER delivered!

The food was phenomenal, and it was clear that a tremendous amount of thought had gone into the entire event. From the range setup and educational opportunities to the food, vendors, and attendee experience, every detail seemed to have been carefully considered. The sponsors and event organizers deserve a lot of credit for making everything run so smoothly.

During lunch, the event hosts also announced the winners of two exciting firearm packages. Each package included a P322 pistol, a P365 pistol, and an M400 rifle. Needless to say, there was plenty of excitement surrounding the announcements!

After lunch, I waited for the range to reopen while the full-auto rifle experience wrapped up. There was always something happening, and even the breaks between activities offered opportunities to visit, talk, and take in everything the festival had to offer.

Back to the Demo Bay: New Firearms to Experience

Once the range reopened, I headed back to the demonstration bay. I had another opportunity to try the brand-new SIG SAUER P385 pistol, along with its various configurations.

One of the great things about the ROSE Festival is the opportunity to experience different firearms firsthand. Being able to handle and shoot different models provides a much better understanding of their characteristics, features, and feel than simply looking at them in a display case.

For anyone interested in firearms, these hands-on opportunities are a real treat. There is always something new to discover, and I appreciated having the chance to spend more time exploring the SIG SAUER lineup.

Pistol Caliber Carbine: A Class Worth Taking

My first class of the day was Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC), and I absolutely loved it!

What really stood out was the instructional approach. The techniques and coaching produced immediate, noticeable improvements on target. There's something incredibly satisfying about learning a technique, applying it, and seeing the results right away.

Of course, there was plenty of shooting involved, too. There's nothing quite like loading up a 30-round magazine and getting to work!

We practiced a variety of dynamic maneuvers and drills that added another level of challenge to the class. The instructors kept things engaging while helping us work on our skills and apply what we'd learned.

For the grand finale, we were encouraged to engage steel targets from approximately 25 to 30 yards with a final rapid-fire string. It was a fantastic way to wrap up the class, and I walked away having learned a great deal while thoroughly enjoying myself.

This was definitely one of my favorite experiences of the festival!

Understanding the M400: A Hands-On Learning Experience

My final class of the festival was an M400 rifle disassembly class, and it turned out to be an excellent way to finish the instructional portion of the event.

The instructors really went above and beyond to make sure everyone understood how the rifle operated and how its individual components worked together. Rather than simply demonstrating how to take the rifle apart and put it back together, they took the time to explain the function of the various parts and how they contributed to the overall operation of the firearm.

I appreciated their willingness to answer questions and ensure that everyone had a solid understanding before moving on.

It's easy to become familiar with operating a firearm without necessarily understanding what is happening inside it. Classes like this provide a deeper appreciation of the engineering, mechanics, and design behind the equipment we use.

Overall, an excellent class and a great learning experience!

The Best Part: The People We Meet Along the Way

As the festival came to a close, we boarded the buses for the trip back to the hotel. But even though the shooting and classes were finished, the conversations certainly weren't!

I had some wonderful conversations with other attendees on the ride back. We exchanged contact information, talked about our experiences, and made plans to stay in touch. It was especially nice to connect with women from so many different backgrounds and parts of the country who shared a common interest in learning and improving their skills.

Throughout the festival, I heard women describe their experiences with words like empowering, amazing, an incredible confidence boost, and inspiring.

I have to agree with all of them.

There is something special about spending time in an environment where people genuinely want to see you succeed. Whether you're an experienced shooter or someone still developing the fundamentals, the encouragement and enthusiasm are contagious. Nobody seems interested in comparing credentials or measuring experience. Instead, people are sharing knowledge, cheering each other on, and celebrating what everyone accomplishes.

That kind of atmosphere is something worth experiencing.

Until Next Year, ROSE!

Looking back, the SIG SAUER ROSE Festival was so much more than two days at the range. It was an opportunity to try new firearms, learn from knowledgeable instructors, challenge myself, make new friends, and become part of a community of women who share a passion for learning.

I'm grateful to SIG SAUER, the ROSE team, the instructors, sponsors, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this event possible. Their attention to detail, hospitality, and commitment to creating such a welcoming experience did not go unnoticed.

I came to Las Vegas looking forward to learning and having a great time. I left with new skills, new friendships, wonderful memories, and plenty of reasons to keep training.

Thank you, ROSE by SIG SAUER. I'm already looking forward to next year!
