Sig Sauer ROSE FESTIVAL Day 1: More Than a Day at the Range.
From exciting new firearms and hands-on demonstrations to inspiring instruction and new friendships, the first day at the range was an unforgettable experience.
If the opening reception set the tone for the SIG SAUER ROSE Festival, Day 1 at the range brought that excitement to life.
The morning started early. At 7:20 a.m., we boarded the buses and headed to the Clark County shooting range, ready for a full day of firearms demonstrations, educational classes, and opportunities to connect with women from across the country. What awaited us was even better than anticipated.
A Warm Welcome at the Range
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a beautiful archway leading into the vendor village. The setup was fantastic, with comfortable couches and inviting spaces to sit, chat, meet new people, and catch up with familiar faces. Vendors filled the area with products to explore, demonstrations of training aids, giveaways, and plenty of opportunities to discover something new.
The SIG SAUER ROSE apparel trailer offered an assortment of clothing for festival attendees, while Savior Equipment showcased some impressive hearing protection and range bags. Everywhere you looked, there was something interesting to see, learn about, or try.
The entire village had an energetic but welcoming atmosphere. It wasn't simply a place to shop or browse products. It was a place to connect with people who share an interest in firearms, training, and personal growth. Whether you arrived with friends or came on your own, there were plenty of opportunities to strike up a conversation and feel part of the community.
It was an incredible start to the day!
The Range Goes Hot!
At 9:00 a.m., the range went hot, and the excitement ramped up another notch. The demonstration bay opened, and I wasted no time getting over there to shoot.
SIG SAUER had an impressive lineup of firearms available to experience, including the brand new P385 pistol, a compensated P365 pistol, a Sig Sauer Cross 6.5 Creedmoor rifle, a 9mm pistol-caliber carbine, and the Sig Sauer Rattler chambered in .300 Blackout, along with much more.
For someone who enjoys firearms and learning about different platforms, the opportunity to get hands-on with so many options was a real highlight. There's something valuable about being able to experience a firearm firsthand rather than simply reading about it or watching a video. It gives you an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and better understand the equipment.
And with so much happening throughout the day, there was no shortage of things to explore!
Education, Great Food, and Inspiring Speakers
The festival wasn't just about shooting. Education was a major part of the experience, with excellent speakers and a variety of classes offering opportunities to develop knowledge and skills.
The organizers also made sure everyone was well taken care of. Lunch was excellent, and snacks were available throughout the day to help keep everyone fueled for the busy schedule.
One of my afternoon highlights was attending the ROSE Pistol Performance and Precision class. It was both extremely educational and entertaining, a combination that makes learning enjoyable while still providing meaningful takeaways. I appreciated the opportunity to develop my understanding of pistol performance and precision in a setting designed to encourage learning and improvement.
Experiences like this are a reminder that no matter how long you've been involved in firearms, there's always something new to learn. Training isn't just about reaching a particular skill level. It's about continuing to develop, asking questions, and finding ways to improve.
A Community That Wants You to Succeed
As impressive as the facilities, demonstrations, and classes were, the people were what really made the day special.
Throughout the range, attendees, instructors, and vendors were friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. I met women from Florida, California, New Mexico, New Hampshire, and many other places. Every conversation offered another opportunity to connect with someone new and learn a little about her experiences.
What stood out most was the encouragement.
There's a general feeling at this festival that people want to see you succeed. Women who may have met you only moments earlier are cheering you on, encouraging you to try something new, and celebrating your progress. You don't have to be the most experienced shooter in the room. You don't have to know everyone. You simply have to show up with a willingness to learn.
"People who have never met you before are rooting for you."
That feeling of encouragement and empowerment is difficult to fully describe until you've experienced it yourself. It helps create an environment where women can ask questions, challenge themselves, develop their skills, and enjoy the process without feeling that they have to prove themselves to anyone.
That's what makes an event like this so meaningful. It's not just about the firearms or the training. It's about creating an environment where people feel comfortable learning, growing, and supporting one another.
Winding Down and Connecting
After a full day of shooting, learning, and exploring everything the festival had to offer, we headed back to the hotel for a relaxing social hour. It was a welcome opportunity to unwind, catch up with the people we'd met throughout the day, and continue making new connections in a more relaxed setting.
After so much excitement at the range, it was nice to slow down, share stories, and reflect on the day's experiences. The friendships and conversations continued long after the shooting was over, making an already memorable day feel even more special.
Why Experiences Like This Matter
At Cadence Defense, we believe firearms education should be approachable, supportive, and focused on helping people become safer, more knowledgeable, and more confident. Training should challenge us to improve while giving us the tools and encouragement to do so.
My first day at the Sig Sauer Rose Festival reinforced just how valuable that kind of environment can be. The opportunity to try new equipment, learn from knowledgeable instructors, and meet women who share a passion for learning made for an exceptional day.
It's also a reminder that firearms training doesn't have to be a solitary pursuit. The connections we make with other people can become an important part of our growth, providing encouragement, new perspectives, and motivation to keep learning long after an event ends.
And There's More to Come!
Day 1 delivered an impressive combination of hands-on experiences, educational opportunities, great hospitality, and genuine camaraderie. Sig Sauer has created something special with the Rose Festival, and the enthusiasm throughout the day made it clear that attendees were getting far more than a day at the range.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of it, and I'm looking forward to what comes next.
Stay tuned as we continue sharing our experiences from the Sig Sauer Rose Festival in Las Vegas!
