First Shots – A Safe, Structured Introduction to Handguns

Curious about firearms but not sure where to begin? The First Shots® Program is designed specifically for new and prospective shooters who want to learn in a safe, welcoming environment.

Getting started can feel intimidating—but it doesn’t have to be. First Shots makes the introduction simple, approachable, and stress-free, guiding you through the fundamentals with confidence.

In partnership with the National Shooting Sports Foundation, this program includes:

  • A comfortable classroom session covering essential firearm safety fundamentals

  • Professional, friendly instruction from certified instructors and range safety officers

  • A safe, controlled live-fire experience using beginner-friendly handguns in a supervised setting

  • All firearms, equipment and range fees included—just show up and learn.

  • A fun, educational introduction to handgun shooting and responsible ownership

As a bonus, participants will receive a $25 reward coupon toward future purchases at Cadence Defense.
